Getting There

Encounter nature at its tranquil best at Camp Tusker. Located in the verdant surroundings of Rajaji National Park, the musical chirping of the birds, the rousing sound of the forest and the relaxed atmosphere take you far away from the hustle of city life, into the rejuvenating lap of nature. Accommodation here is in comfortable safari tents and true to Snow Leopard Adventures tradition, warm hospitable staff and excellent food are highlights of the camp.

The camp, situated near Haridwar, is a brief 4½-hour drive from Delhi and is an ideal getaway for soft adventure & nature enthusiasts. The camp is near Chilla Gate, Village Ganga Bhogpur.

The many activities possible from Camp Tusker include jeep safaris in and around the park, nature walks, cycling, day treks, rappelling and river rafting.

Rajaji National Park: In 1983, three sanctuaries in the Shivaliks --Chilla, Rajaji and Motichur-- were merged into a large protected area and were jointly named Rajaji National Park after the famous freedom fighter Lt. Shri Rajagopalachari. Spread over an area of over 800 sq. kms, the park is a magnificent ecosystem nestled in the Shivalik ranges. With the Ganga River flowing through, the park is the beginning of the vast Indo-Gangetic plains.

Delhi - Meerut bye pass - Khatauli - Muzaffar Nagar bye pass - Roorkee - Haridwar

By Rail:
Haridwar is the nearest railhead. There are three trains from Delhi for Haridwar.

Dehradun Shatabdi: Morning Departure
Time: Depart Delhi 0655 hrs from New Delhi Railway Station. Arrive Haridwar 1115 hrs.
         Depart Haridwar 1800 hrs. Arrive Delhi 2230 hrs.

Jan Shatabdi: Afternoon Departure (Does not operate on Sundays)
Time: Depart Delhi 1530 hrs from New Delhi Railway Station. Arrive Haridwar 1920 hours
         Depart Haridwar 0623 hrs. Arrive Delhi 1105 hrs.

Mussourie Express: Overnight train
Time: Depart Delhi 2215 hrs from Old Delhi Railway Station. Arrive Haridwar next day -0550 hrs
         Depart Haridwar 2230 hrs. Arrive Delhi next day at 0605 hrs.

Rishikesh:
Is a great pilgrimage center of India made famous by Beatles who stayed here in an ashram for 3 months. It is famous the world over for its yoga centers and spiritual missions.

We visit temples, ashrams, Yoga centers and the famous Laxman Jhoola and Ram Jhoola suspension bridges in Rishikesh, made famous by the Beatles who visited here in the 1970's. At Rishikesh, the holy Ganga leaves the Himalayas and enters the Indo- Gangetic plains on its 2525- km journey to the Bay of Bengal.

Haridwar:
Leave for a sight seeing trip to Haridwar. Spend some time at Har - ki - Pauri and the Haridwar Bazaar and wander through the lanes of Haridwar for a peep in the lives of the famous religious center.

One could also take a cable car trip to Mansa Devi Temple. The temple sits atop Bilwa Parvat, a hill above the town. The cable car ride offers you a panoramic view of the river and the ghats.

The evening Aarti is a sight that does not deserve a miss!

We drive up to Bindwasini temple. The temple offers magnificent views of the Rajaji National Park. You can cool yourself by relaxing by a stream nearby after the climb J.
