Nepal
Locked
between the immense masses of India and China, draped along
the highest Himalayas lies the ancient kingdom of Nepal. Within
its compact territory it combines an entire monarchy of mountains,
beautiful valleys and a whole set of low lying fertile plains
complete with jungles, game sanctuaries and fast running rivers.
From trekking to river rafting to mountaineering, everything
is possible here - as is a trip to simply be in the country
with its people, who are possibly the most openhearted in
the world. Treks in Nepal have often been described as 'long
walks', their tedium further tempered by the beautiful scenes
and the evidence of daily life found along the way, and river
rafting here is probably the ultimate thrill short of bungy-
jumping!
For those who have limited time but unconstrained aspirations,
we have an itinerary that provides a comprehensive encounter
with this Himalayan kingdom by combining a visit to Kathmandu,
a rafting trip down the Trishuli river, a visit to the Royal
Chitwan National Park, a moderate trek and a visit to the
beautiful Pokhara valley.
